BetterFast (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an intermittent fasting tracker for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
BetterFast is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older.
An age verification screen is presented before any data is collected. If a user indicates they are under 18, access to the app is blocked and no account or data is created.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18.
When you first open BetterFast, an anonymous account is created using Firebase Authentication. This generates a random user ID. No name, email address, or phone number is required.
If you choose to link a Google or Apple account (optional, via Settings), the email address associated with that account is collected solely for authentication purposes.
BetterFast stores the information necessary to provide fasting tracking functionality, including:
• Fasting session start and end times• Duration and selected protocol • Goals and goal history • Optional notes
If you enable Advanced Tracking (off by default), the app may also store:
• Weight• Mood • Energy level • Sleep duration and quality • Hydration • Workout summary • Daily notes
This data is stored locally on your device and synchronized to Google Cloud Firestore to allow cross-device access and backup.
If you enable health integration (off by default), BetterFast may read and write weight data only to:
• Apple Health (iOS)• Health Connect (Android)
Health data remains within the Apple Health or Health Connect ecosystem and is not transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
During onboarding, we request demographic categories including:
• Age range• Gender • Country • State or province • City • Income range
This information is used to support advertising relevance.
We do not collect precise location data.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how BetterFast is used. This may include:
• App open frequency• Feature usage • Fasting session events • Device type and operating system • General interaction data
Analytics collection is optional and can be declined during onboarding or disabled later in Settings.
Our third-party providers (such as Google Firebase and Google AdMob) may automatically collect technical information including:
• Device model• Operating system version • IP address • Language settings • Advertising identifiers (if permitted)
This information is processed in accordance with those providers’ privacy policies.
We do not collect:
• Your real name (unless provided through optional Google/Apple sign-in)• Phone number • Precise GPS location • Photos, contacts, or files • Data from individuals under 18
We use information for the following purposes:
• Providing core fasting tracking functionality• Synchronizing data across devices • Managing subscriptions • Displaying advertisements • Improving app performance and features • Supporting optional health integration
Where required by law, processing is based on user consent, contract (app functionality), or legitimate interest in improving the service.
BetterFast uses the following third-party services:
• Firebase Authentication (Google LLC)• Google Cloud Firestore (Google LLC) • Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) • Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC) • Google AdMob (Google LLC) • RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.)
These providers may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

BetterFast displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Users may subscribe to remove advertisements entirely.
iOS Users:We request permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before allowing cross-app tracking. You may deny this permission and continue using the app.
EEA/UK Users:Where required, a GDPR-compliant consent form is presented before personalized advertising is enabled.
If you consent to demographic-based advertising, only non-identifying demographic categories (such as age range and region) are used for ad relevance. Your name and email address are never shared with advertisers.
You may opt out of personalized advertising through device settings or in-app preferences.
Local Storage:Data is stored on your device in an encrypted SQLite database.
Cloud Storage:Data synchronized to Google Cloud Firestore is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Firestore security rules restrict access so users may only access their own data.
You may:
• Export your data (CSV or PDF)• Delete your account and all associated data • Disable analytics • Decline personalized advertising • Revoke health integration permissions • Modify demographic sharing preferences
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may also have rights under GDPR, including access, rectification, restriction, and portability. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.
We retain your data for as long as your account remains active.
If you delete your account, associated data is permanently removed from our systems, except where retention is required for legal or accounting purposes (such as subscription records).
Aggregated or anonymized analytics data may be retained.
BetterFast is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Users under 18 are prevented from creating accounts or accessing the service.
BetterFast uses local notifications only (for example, fasting reminders). Notification scheduling occurs entirely on your device and is not transmitted to external servers.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be reflected by the revised Effective Date. Continued use of BetterFast constitutes acceptance of any changes.
